Dr. Michael Akom’s clinical interests are chronic kidney disease, dialysis, and transplantation. He participates as one of the four transplant nephrologists in the Maine Transplant Program. He completed internal medicine residency and the first portion of his fellowship at the University of Maryland. He subsequently completed fellowship at Maine Medical Center and joined the Maine Medical Center nephrology faculty. Dr. Akom is an Assistant Clinical Professor of Medicine at Tufts University School of Medicine.
